Passing Pharmacy Technician job interview

Some question you should be prepared to answer on job interview.

Overal question to test your personality:

  1. Why do you want this job? An answer can be "Because this job allows me to help people. I always wanted to work in medical field and I have required skills".
  2. What will you do if customer is verbally aggressive? - "Listen and Let the Customer Vent. I will try to ignore his aggressive behaviour and try to help him with his order."
  3. What do you think about strict deadlines? - "Deadlines are part of  Pharmacy Technician`s job. They must be taken seriously."
  4. How do you manage stress in your daily work? - "I go to joga every saturday" or "I'm walking for an hou everyday" or whatever helps you deel better. Don't mention alcohol and other destructive behaviour.
  5. What is the best way for you to avoid burnout? - "Everyone has to know his limit before he/she reaches it. I know mine - and I cn handle Pharmacy Technician job.".
  6. Why do you want to work for our company? You better study their web-site and find something unique about the company - so you could present it and show that you have done your homework.
  7. What are your future goals for next 3 years? Basically noone cares about your plans - they want to be sure you are into long-term job. And if possible - that you really need this job and will work hard to keep it. Something like "We have just bought a new house for me, my husband and our 2 kids. I want to find a nice job and continuemy education".
  8. What of your everyday activities do you enjoy most to do? What of your activities has most connection with skill you need at work? You like reading book? Participate in social activities?
  9. What are the most important qualities in being a good Pharmacy Technician?
  10. What do you like about pharmacy?
  11. What is your weakest point? Another one?
  12. We have 20 applicants for this vacancy - why should we choose you?
  13. When can you start working?
  14. What are your three greatest strengths?
  15. How do you feel about working with indigent patients?
  16. What do you do in your free time?
  17. What was your favorite and most difficult courses in college?

These question basicly does not have a "correct" answer, but they allow to create you psychological portrait. And if there is something in you that does not perfectly fit into Pharmacy Technician profession - you should check if any of those questions can provoke you.
